A new 100% organic nutrient

FERMAID O® is a new wine fermentation nutrient entirely composed of inactived yeast, for use in musts with low to moderate nitrogen deficiencies.

FERMAID O® is for users who are concerned with fermentation security and who wish to avoid the input of inorganic nitrogen sources, such as diammonium phosphate (DAP).

Nitrogen is essential for proper fermentation development. Quantity is important, as well, but the quality of the nitrogen source is also crucial. To limit the input of nitrogen in an inorganic form, FERMAID O® was developed with only organic nitrogen in its composition. Studies have already shown that, in low to moderate nitrogen deficiencies, the use of FERMAID O® leads to steady and complete fermentation while avoiding the high heat peaks at the beginning of fermentation often found with the addition of inorganic nitrogen.

FERMAID O® is composed of inactivated yeast, naturally rich in amino acids, that is readily metabolized by yeast during fermentation. The recommended dosage is 40 g/hL – divided into two additions (one at the beginning of fermentation and the other at 1/3 of the fermentation).
